Wild Binders Refresher Practice from $130 ( full leather $160)
This advanced workshop focuses on leather paring techniques for spines and corners, providing essential leather-working skills while reinforcing key case-binding techniques. You’ll work with a new stitch design, practice sewing sections onto tapes, create endpapers, and apply marbled covers; all while refining your craftsmanship.
For those taking a refresher class, you can choose to make a half, quarter or full leather binding.
What You’ll Learn
Sewing Sections: Stitch sections onto tapes to construct a strong book block.
Rounding the Spine: Shape and strengthen your book block for a professional finish.
Leather Paring: Learn to pare leather for quarter-bound bookbinding.
Raised Bands: Add elegance with raised bands (for advanced participants).
Blind Tooling: Master the intricate art of "running up a spine" (for advanced participants).
Important Information
Your first session in this workshop is an introduction to working with leather, proficiency will require ongoing practice and additional sessions.
This is a highly technical workshop that requires prior case-binding experience. Ideally, participants will have attended at least one of our case-binding classes.
