In this workshop, participants will delve into the art of Sewn-Board Binding, a relatively new technique that allows books to open effortlessly, with a lined spine. Learn how to seamlessly integrate the cover with the text block, resulting in beautifully crafted sketchbooks with a contemporary look and feel.
Using two contrasting specialty book cloth, you will create a luxurious cover for a 160gsm to 300gsm watercolour book block. Participants will bind a stunning sketchbook using the 'drummed' technique, this method ensures a flawless finish without a visible joint between the cover and text block. Your sketchbooks will have exceptional flexibility and durability.

This class is not suitable for beginners. completing the Introduction to bookbinding: Beginner Case-Binding is recommended to build foundational skills before joining this session.
